Standard-class Hotels (3 Star) in St Petersburg are perhaps the best option for an average tourist. They may lack splendor, but offer clean comfortable rooms (often with small balconies) and bathrooms with a reasonable quality of service. Most of them have business centers, service desks and souvenir shops.

These mainly Soviet-era tourist hotels are typically concrete-and-glass rectan­gles, though some of the older ones have a bit of style. There'll be a restaurant along with a bar or buffet (snack bar).
